Rottweiler Secrets - For Rottweiler Owners Or For Those Who Want One!

My 10month old Rotty has extremely dry skin, cause excesive flaking. I'm feeding him Chicken Soup for large breeds and I am supplementing his food with A1/N, which is a medically formulated essential fatty acid supplement that my Vet has reccomended. I'm using an all natural oatmeal shampoo and have reduced his baths to every 4-6 weeks. He has only been on the supplement for about a week and so far, I've seen no real improvement. Does anyone know of any lotions, creams on sprays that can be applied directly onto his coat that could help?

Well it has only been a week, you.got to give it a little time to build up in his system.
I used to have that problem with my pups then I started useing horse main &tail shampoo & conditioner. The conditioner at first I would dilute it real good and leave on and just towl dry ..it helped. I also switched to a "RAW" diet...now my pups get no dry skin and no "hotspots"
I hope that helps a little

I give both my dogs (English Pointer- 10 yr and Rottie 1.5 yr) a Vit E and a fish oil tablet and they both have great coats and no dry skin. My Rottie was having dry skin for awhile and the vet suggested giving her some oil, so now give them Vit E and fish oil. Hope that helps. I also only feed my dogs cooked chicken mince with rice.
